Google Acquires JotSpot

JotSpot is a three year old wiki hosting system that has over 2000 corporate customers that enables its customers to share spreadsheets, calendars, documents, photo galleries and other files.

For now it is still unknow how much Google paid to aquire JotSpot. It is very clear how it fits into its service offerings. Personally I am very excieted. I had used JotSpot for a trial period and was very impressed. As a private user their fees were too high for me but now due to Google it will be free of charge.

Google will probably integrate JotSpot into Beta Blogger, Google Documents and possibly Google Pages. With JotSpots' superb functionality and ease of use, I would argue that Blogger will be the best Blog service available. Google Documents would gain much better integration into websites. For example imagine creating spreadsheets and easily publish them on your blog or Google pages without any technical knowledge. In addition there are hundreds if not thousands of add on features that can be used with JotSpot and with their help it will remain very flexibility and power.
